Tuesday Tricky Trend: Neon in the Winter!

Untitled #454

Gray, black, and white all are perfect with neon yellow.

Good afternoon,

When I went to Raleigh, North Carolina for the African American Cultural Event in January, noticed a lot of different trends. One of the trends really caught my eye was neon colors. Men and Women were both wearing neon clothing. I saw men with neon sneakers and women with neon coats. It was not until then that I realized neons are not just for spring or summer but could be pulled off in the winter. Here are a few looks I have seen that really prove that neons are not just for warm weather days!

Tips on wearing neon in the winter:

Pair with neutral or dark colors such black, tan, gray, etc.

Try a lighter color neon.

Try neon colors that suit you well. For example I look nice in pink more so than yellow. I would wear hot pink because it suits my complexion but I would never wear neon yellow because it would make me look pale!

Try colors that would suit your body type as well!Wear neons on parts of your body you want define or be noticeable. Warning: It will make you look larger on certain parts of your body. So are apple shape try neon on the smallest part of your body, which is your bottom half. Those who are pear shaped try a neon top.

Wear neon colors that would bring out your best fixtures.

For those who never have worn neon, try just one shade at a time. Perhaps start with a purse or jewelry to see how you feel in it first! Once you feel confident wearing that then try something else!

If you want to wear it to work or an formal event ask about the dress code first!
