Good afternoon!

I hope everyone is loving this Monday. I am loving this Monday because the weather is perfect here in North Carolina. The high today is in the 80s with no rain. When I went out today running errands I saw a lot of people embracing this good weather with beautiful spring wear. I saw a lot of ladies in embracing this spring day by wearing various types of spring dresses.

There are a lot of types of dresses a woman can choose but there are only a few dresses that are universally flattering for body types. I have found the top 3 figure flattering dresses that you can wear for spring.

 Shift Dresses

Shift dresses are figure flattering because of these dress are column cut and have no defined waist.

Tips:

For a curvy tummy- Try a dress that is polyester blend or has pleats in the mid section area.

For a large bust- Pick a dress with vertical or horizontal darts to give you a shape. A line cut works best.

For full hips or thighs -  a line shape ( smooths out lower half) and or vertical lines (elegantes body).

For a slim frame- a dress with detailing is best( pleats or darts)

Fit and Flare Dresses

Untitled #571

Fit and flare dresses are fitted up top and flare out at the bottom or skirt. These dresses give an illusion of a hourglass figure or a more defined waist. You really can't go wrong with this dress type.

Tips:

Different patterns and lengths are what can really help flatter your figure  even more.

The same rules for other dresses as for a pattern, length, and design can be used with fit and flare.

Maxi Dresses

Teal

Tanesha looks lovely in a teal maxi dress.

Tips:

For a curvy figure- cap sleeves look nice

For a pear shape- empire waist gives less attention to fuller lower half

For a slim figure or athletic  shape- wear a belted or drawstring maxi .

For short and petite: Maxis that are solid color elongate, empire, and structured dresses are the best. If you go with prints try smaller prints.

A Few  Figure Friendly Dresses!

Whatever dress you choose, pick one that you feel that best in and wear your spring dress with confidence!
