TBT: Classic Summer Looks

Untitled #635

Like most women I love to recreate some of the Classic Hollywood looks by finding current items similar to the ones in the past.
When I was looking at a  lot of the fashion trending for Spring and Summer 2015, I realized of lot of those trends can be traced back to the 1940 and 1950s.  Most people only see the 1970s as inspiration for looks this summer. But the 1970s was influenced by some looks in the 1940s and the 50s. Can you guess which items trending now can be traced back to the 1940s and 1950s?

Block Sandals

People are wearing block sandals this year but probably few knew that women like Ingrid Bergman were wearing them in the 1940s!

Gingham

You probably guessed  Gingham because a lot of bloggers have mentioned were this trend derived from, including me!

Katherine Hepburn out of her usually pants suit wore a gingham dress in The Philadelphia Story.

Polka Dots

Polka dots just like strips are a staple print to wear in the summer time!

Hedy Lamarr a brilliant, beautiful, and before her time knew how to wear a polka dot dress.

Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.
When most people take about this look they mention the scarf, the blouse, and skirt. But those are very interesting especially since people are going crazy over laced up flats!

If you want to recreate some of these iconic items check out my collection of Modern Day items similar to the looks above.
All  items are under $70 bucks!
