Good morning! Last time I did the post about how to stay cool and modest in the summer, I mainly focused on the various fabrics that can help you in the summer. There are many other ways to help you beat the heat and without shedding a lot of clothing. One way is choosing the best color of clothing for the summer.

Light Summer Dresses

White Dress

Most believe that light colored clothing is best for the summer time. I totally agree with that belief because light colored garments are less likely to attract heat more so than darker colors.

Dark Summer Dresses

But do not fear black clothing is not totally off limits!

Dark colors like black are good to wear in the summer because they are less likely to attract UV rays than their lighter counterparts. Dark clothing offers you better protection from the sun and you are less likely to experience sunburn.

Maxim Coverage

Most people believe that during the hot summer days  less clothing is always best. But when it comes to protecting your skin from being burned more clothing is actually better.

Maxi dresses are awesome for summer because most maxi dresses are made with a lightweight fabric like chiffon which allows you to be covered yet cool at the same time.

The same can be said for maxi skirts!

  2. Many people don't realize how much the material your clothing is made out of can make a difference! I live in the very humid tropics, so I try to buy almost everything in 100% cotton--it breathes so much better than polyester!

    1. Cotton is how lot cooler than polyester because it is a natural fiber. The less tightly woven or heavier the cotton garment is the better it will be when wearing in humid conditons! Thanks for stopping by!
