I got this skirt around Fourth of July at Target for around $8. When I first picked this skirt up I picked a 3X. But it was too big so I went and found a 1X skirt that fit fine. So I knew I had to buy this skirt because I could never get a skirt this inexpensive.

The price was perfect but the print and colors really sold me. Black and white looks great with everything so I knew this skirt would be a staple. And hopeful I have enough guts to start mixing prints which give me more possibilities.

How to Wear a Midi Skirt

But having worn midi skirts I knew I could not style it the same way as I style my non-midi skirts. If I would try that it would end up looking frumpy and that is something no one including wants to look like. If you feel the same way about midi skirts not looking right on you, I have a few tips to help you style your midi!

Choosing the right skirt

All midi skirt are not alike! I tried on another midi skirt but this one was more flattering for me. The other was too straight and long for my body type. So when it comes to picking a skirt that looks good on you. If you prefer a shorter midi skirt then chose one. A shorter skirt is perfect for those who are petite or want to give the illusion of long legs. A skirt just below the knee would be ideal.

Tailored Fit

Okay, I have something to confess! I really hate to sew but sometimes it is necessary when items really don't fit. The blush pink HM skirt from last week had to be taken in. You can also hem your midi if you feel it is too long.

To tuck or not to Tuck

Tucking in a midi skirt

I tried wearing my midi skirts with a long top but it ends up looking slouchy.  It looks nothing like the images in magazines or perfect Pinterest. So I tuck my shirts in usually because it looks neater.A cool tip to remember what tops to wear is if you have the volume on the bottom don't have any on the top. Wear shirts that are fitted, tucked, or even cropped with a full skirt.

Right Shoe

Another thing that can make you look shorter is choosing the wrong shoe. Flat, for example, would make you look shorter with you pair it with a long midi skirt. Heels look best with skirts longer than mid calf. Ankle strap heels should also be avoided.
