Did you know it takes faith to go to sleep? I never really thought of that until I read one of the articles in August Intouch Magazine. The author reflected on how many times she could not go to sleep because of fear or doubt. Many people in America including myself at times suffered from insomnia and have spent many nights of unrest because of stress. Whether it worrying about food, money, work, or family, those nagging thoughts keep us up at night. It takes faith to cast all of those worries onto God by praying and believing that he will work it out for us. It takes faith not to panic about someone breaking into your home or some type of disaster to strike you and your love ones. Psalm 4:8 States that God will give us peace to sleep because he is keeping us safe. Just accept God's word and let go of all those fear and simply go to sleep!
A lot of times we get in despair because we pray to go and things still do not seem to change. But several scripture states that God's time is not like our time.
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
2 Peter 3:8 ESV
But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
